Hot Diggedy Dogs: Off The Broiler taste tests hot dogs aplenty

For deli lovers, especially New York deli lovers, no visit would be complete without a taste of that pure tube of mystery meat known as the hot dog. I’ve had a few in my travels, and those in New York are the finest in the deli landscape. They usually rest on a small foil covered griddle, warming all day until one is picked, tossed in a bun, and devoured with mustard, saurkraut, and onions.
My friend Jason Perlow, who is one of the top food bloggers out there with his Off the Broiler site, has just undertaken an ambitious Dog Off. He and some trusty mouths have evaluated thirty two brands of hot dogs in the United States, to see who’se weiner is the winner. Grab the baseball glove, some relish, and a cold soda or twelve. It’s going to be one tasty read.
