My friend Prof.Ted Merwin, a fellow deliphile, just sent me this notice about a panel discussion on Jewish Cuisine and the Evolution of the Deli at the Museum of the City of New York on July 31st.

How has the Jewish deli as part of the cuisine-as-character of New York evolved and changed? Food critic and author Matthew Goodman will moderate a stellar panel discussion that includes Joel Denker, Food Historian, George Washington University; Mark Federman, Proprietor, Russ & Daughters; Mimi Sheraton, food critic and author; Jack Lebewohl, Proprietor, Second Avenue Deli; and Allan Dell, Proprietor, Katz’s Delicatessen. $
