What a wonderful surprise to read and see Krakow.!
My mothers place of birth until she was about 13 years old. She lived at Kupergase st.can't recall the #. It was behind the market square. My husband and I were planning a trip to Krakow, but the airline cancelled it. Needless to say my Mom was excited about our going. I know if she and her sisters and brothers were alive today and your report of Krakow, there would be much joy. As for the foods that you describe the kreplach were the best for me, cabbage soup, yes it was sweet but oh so good.Mom also made fish in a jelly sauce( I still have bowl she used) it was delish. Thank you for this wonderful article, it made my day.

Very interesting Article. I lived in Kazimierz for three years and found the atmosphere and the cuisine to be very special. My favourite Polish food is Bigos a mix of cabbage, meat, dried plums, peppercorns, bardzo smaczny= very tasty! I recommend www.krakow-poland.com for more information about Kazimierz restaurants and Krakow specialties
