“Elegy” with a little help from us

Friday is always a good film day, especially if it’s raining (as it is this summer), and I’d recommend you go check out Elegy, a new film starring Penelope Cruz and Ben Kingsley. Based on a Philip Roth story (old man falls for young woman, fears age, etc…), it’s supposedly smart, intelligent, complicated, and yes, filled with a few choice scenes of senora Cruz in the buff. Such is lovely life.
Now, aside from my love of film, Sra. Cruz, and the shining scalp of Kingsley, I’m recommending Elegy for another small reason. Several months back I was contacted by their production department for photos. They wanted to shoot a scene in a delicatessen, but with Vancouver standing in for New York (or wherever), they had to build one. So they asked Save the Deli for photographs of deli foods.
So if you happen to go see Elegy, and can drag your eyes away from Penelope’s bosoms, look for some deli pictures and beam with modest, moderate, useless pride. We’ve gone Hollywood baby!
ps: Penelope…call me
