I miss the original 2nd Avenue Deli. It's great to know that NYC can support so many interesting places to get a corned beef sandwich. Although places like Katz's have almost become a parody of the term Jewish Deli.

For my money, I'll go to Bragman's in Newark, NJ. Either that or Hobby's.

Certainly Mile End. Even though what they do is entirely different from the deli I grew up with in New Jersey.

With that said, I look forward to trying the "new" 2nd Avenue Deli and wish them much good fortune! As the article said, they are not fast food... Maybe what they really are- is a window onto our past. In the form of great deli!

Mazol Tov on the opening of the Midtown 2nd Ave Deli. Wishing you always continued success. We will be there to have a great pastrami sandwich on rye with good mustard.

We use to travel from Australia to NYC twice a year for a holiday, mainly to eat all our dinners at the 2nd Ave. On the last trip, the service and atmosphere was so terrible I swore I'd never go back. I am such a fan of delis from my youth, maybe I'll try the new location.
